MANUAL THERAPY

Hands on techniques involving muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints that are used to treat musculoskeletal conditions. Manual Therapy includes mobilizations and manipulations of joints and soft tissue to assist with flexibility, strength and movement.

EXERCISE PROGRAMMING

Exercise can be huge in the recovery from injury and movement dysfunction. Exercise programs are made custom to each individual to help them reach their personal goals and get back to full function.

PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY

Physical therapy involving the pelvic floor muscles. These muscles are extremely important for many bodily functions and can have a huge impact on quality of life if they are dysfunctional. The pelvic floor muscles are responsible for bladder control, bowel control, sexual function and more. Pelvic floor therapy can be used to treat incontinence, pelvic pain, painful intercourse and many other pelvic-related dysfunctions. 

Pregnancy-related concerns and post-partum issues are welcome. Please contact us.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is used to relieve pain, headaches, inflammation, improve function and encourage natural healing of the body. It involves inserting disposable sterile needles into particular points along the body.

Whitney & Julie are both trained and certified in acupuncture and have been performing it for several years now. For any questions or concerns related to acupuncture please contact us.

MODALITIES & TAPING

Modalities such as Heat, Ice, TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), Ultrasound, Taping and more are offered at our clinic. Modalities are used in the acute phase of injury to reduce inflammation, pain, muscle spasms, and enhance tissue healing.

SPORT THERAPY

From high level sports to the weekend warriors - injuries happen. Sprains, strains, concussions, ligament injuries - physiotherapy can help with it all! We provide sport-specific training to prevent injuries and help with recovery when they happen. Modalities such as heat/ice, ultrasound, TENS, bracing etc can all be used to get you back to the sport you love.rom high level sports to the weekend warriors - injuries happen. JOINT REPLACEMENT

Physical therapy can play a huge role in the preparation and recovery phase of both hip and knee joint replacements. Physical therapy can provide you with education, hands on therapy and specific exercises to help you

VESTIBULAR THERAPY

For clients suffering from inner ear dysfunctions causing altered balance, vertigo or dizziness - vestibular rehabilitation can help. Vestibular therapy involves specific movements and exercises to improve balance and reduce problems related to dizziness or vertigo.

RETURN TO WORK

This is a major goal for many of our clients and we take it seriously. Whether you are returning to work after a work-related injury through Workers Compensation Board (WCB) or that weekend injury playing your favorite sport - we are here to help. We will take you through your job duties and analyze what movements/tasks are involved in order to perform your job. We often work together with your employer in order to make the transition back to work run smoothly.

EDUCATION

Physical therapists are very knowledgeable in injuries and human movement and can educate you in your recovery and rehabilitation. One of the most important aspects of our therapy is to ensure you understand what is happening to your body and get you involved in your therapy - knowing what movements and activities to be involved in and avoid is important to your recovery.

MANAGING PAIN

Whether it is chronic or acute - we deal with pain a lot. There are many types of pain with many causes and it is our job to assess what type of treatment would benefit you the most. There are many modalities (TENS, Ice, Heat, Acupuncture etc) that we can use to alleviate pain  as well as education and manual therapy. Living with pain can severely affect your quality of life - ask us what we can do to help.

CARDIAC / PULMONARY / NEURO REHABILITATION

You maybe wouldn't think that physiotherapists could help you after your heart attack or pulmonary issue - but we have training in dealing with these medical issues too! Our goal is to help you return to your daily activities and provide you with guidance in your recovery. Remember your heart and diaphragm are muscles too and need rehabilitation after an injury (ie heart attack).

Have you experienced a stroke? Loss of movement or strength on one side of your body? Often people will spend a period of time in hospital with occupational and physical therapists but when you go home - life may look different for you. We as physical therapists are here to help!
